- Risk amount = balance × risk%
- Quantity = risk amount ÷ |entry − stop|
- Notional = quantity × entry · Margin = notional ÷ leverage
- Net PnL = direction × (exit − entry) × qty − fees(in + out)

- Safe lev = 1 ÷ (stop% + buffer% + maint% + fee%)

How do I calculate crypto position size?
Decide the dollar amount you are willing to lose (account balance × risk %), then divide it by the distance between entry and stop loss. That gives the quantity; quantity × entry price is your notional position, and notional ÷ leverage is the margin you must post.
Why size from risk instead of leverage?
Leverage only changes the margin you post — it does not change how much you lose when the stop is hit. Sizing from a fixed risk budget keeps every loss the same survivable size regardless of leverage.
Is this exact for Binance, Bybit, OKX, or Bitget?
No calculator outside the exchange can be exact. Liquidation and margin depend on the venue's maintenance-margin tiers, margin mode, funding, fees, and any position changes. These figures are close estimates for isolated USDT linear perpetuals — always confirm on your exchange before trading.
